Our goal is for our cherished students to graduate with well rounded personal qualities, skills, and knowledge that will help prepare them for college and for life.
Learning Expeditions
At the heart of our curriculum are Learning Expeditions, which are long-term, in-depth investigations of topics and themes that teach students through fieldwork, community service, and a real-world context for their learning! Some of our expeditions include:
- Farm to Table – Explores the global food system through environmental, biological, economic, and social aspects.
- Water and the West – Your child will explore the waterways of Boulder on foot and by kayak! We will work with Geographic Information Systems to gain a better understanding of the Boulder Creek Watershed.
- Architecture - students will design, draft, and model plans for a new school on the school’s property. They will also study the history of architecture and the relationship between local culture and building design.
- Government – We will encourage students to promote greater understanding of the political process among teenagers, and work with artistic expression as a means to communicate their beliefs.
